Elizabeth-The Golden Age

The story is against the backdrop that England queen-Elzabeth(acted by Cate Blanchett)was threatened by the betrayer of royal who believe in Catholicism,while the regime(政權) was believing in Protestantism.

Then a handsome young guy appeared.The man(acted by Clive Owen)who is totally unlike those athelings(貴族)caught the queen's eyes.He is adventurous,brave,and every word he said to queen is out of his heart.Soon,the queen fell in love.

But because the situation was quite bad,Elizabeth gave up this love for the whole situation and encouraged the man to associate with her beloved lady-in-waiting-Beth.

In the end of the movie, she said,"I have no master......I'm myself."

I think the movie is not bad.You can see a country leader must do some sacrifices(marriage,lover,family,etc.) to protect his/her people.It is not that easy to be a King or Queen we consider.

If you want to see this movie,I have a suggestion to tell is realizing more about the history will help you to get in the story further.

Cafe Triste,傷心咖啡店之歌

The story is talking about a group of people who lives in the prosperous Taipei want to find what the true value in their lives is and what they are desirably seeking for.
The leading character,馬蒂,is a thirty-year old woman but her life is actually a mess.
Her marriage is failed,the relationship in her family is indifferent,and she doesn't have any performances in her career,while most her classmates of university have done something in their field.
As a result,she begins to question herself whether she wants this kind of life or not.
But at the same time,she is afraid to persuade what she desires because she cares too much about other people's thinking and the value of society.
Then,she bumped into a group of people who run a cafe.
These people live their style and teach 馬蒂 to live for herself not for others,don't put emphasis on others' thought.
In the end,馬蒂 screwed up her courage heading for the place that she dreams her whole life,Madagascar.There,she has realized what is the true treasure to her and found the way in her life,although she died in an accident in Madagascar.
Sometimes when I am alone,I would think what I have done for 18 years.And sorrily I find that there are full of study and an variety of exams.I don't know what I am looking for and after all the school I have finished,what can I do and want to do?Working to death?Oh!That scares me.It seems that the dreams in our childhood disappear and the reality ties us up.We must find our dreams and passion back;otherwise,we will get lost and waste our life!That is why this novel attracts me.

Lust,Caution

CNN has interviewed with Ang Lee,the pride of Chinese people.Because after a controversial movie,"Brokeback Mountain"filmed,he has directed another one,"Lust,Caution"which depicted the psychologic struggle and female sexuality of a woman secret agent(acted by湯唯)against the backdrop of the war against Japan.The original novel is written by 張愛玲,a legendary woman in the contemporary Shanghai.I have not only seen the movie but also read the novel and I think it is a kind of Age tragedy.Falling in love with someone is not wrong.But at the background of Chinese eight-year war,the role you played and the one you loved should deeply considerate,not to mentioned,you two were in the opponent sides.So many people kept an eye on you and the social conscience would tie you up.It is the destiny that they would not have a happy ending; instead,one must kill the other one even her partner to ensure his savity.

A creative person

One of creative people that I admire is Tyra Banks.She was a supermodel before and broke through some discrimination in the fashion world,for example;she is the first black model to have the shot for Victoria's secret and she is not the kind of skinny model,in fact,she has a plump body.After retiring from the fashion stage,she gets the ideas to use what she knows and learns from modeling to run a company,produce,and host TV shows.And one of her TV shows"American Next Top Model"makes her career reach another climax.I have seen this TV show from cycle 1 to cycle 8 and I think every episode has great ideas which not only let the competitors realize more about fashion and how cruel it is in this career but also make the competitors progress and promote themselves harder.To her,Tyra Banks,retirement is not the end but a beginning.It depends on how you create your life!

Speeches!!

I went to two speeches yesterday.THE speechers were 劉漢龍 and 周威宇.The central idea of these two was tell us how to manage your money when you earn,what the concept of management or investment is correct,and how to improve yourself to be more competitive than others. Both two speechers mentioned the M shaped society which now has become clearer and clearer in our world:people who is rich get richer and those who is poor become poorer-the society goes to extreme.How can we break through so many talented people and make ourselves be the part of rich side.In addition to those the speechers told us (be special,be professional,be hardworking,be elastic) ,it reminded me of the first English Listening class the powerpoint the teacher showed to us-ATTITUDE.The better attitude you have,the greater competitive you will be!Afterall,IQ let you get the job,but EQ makes you promote.

B. What do you think of this performance?
I have never seen this kind of performance before and I think it is cool to utilize vision effect combining the sound,expressing the idea that they want people to know,to care about. In my opinion,it conveys an issue-GLOBAL WARMING,which is resulted from human that produce a lot of exhaust,such as vehicle exhaust,factory exhaust,etc.polluting our earth.

A. In what ways do you think you are already a global citizen?
I think if a person who has an international sense,no discrimination(ethnic,religion,gender......)to others and realize how to respect our natural as our own mother can be a global citizen.Besides,a global citizen who does things not only considers his/herself interest but also for social interest and makes our world get better and better.
B. How can you become a better global citizen?
I can do something around me first,for example,classifying the trash,taking the public transportation more often to cut down the use of resources and lower the exhaust pollution.If your abilities permitted donate something useful to the needy.Although,everyone can do is limited,the more people distribute,the large the power will be!

The Kite Runner

I have bought this book for a few month,but until today I finish it.
Actually,I don't like Mid-East literature very much because it is so real,violent,full of blood,and something bad like rape happen all the time that I feel uncomfotable.That is why I postponed to read it ,although I listened to my friend's recommendation to buy this book.
When I read the book,I can imagine that two boys play together,having a good time in their childhood until the tragedy happened to the character's friend because of the character 's jealousy and desire to his dad's love and a series of war broke out.
The regret became the part of character's life,although he thought the memory would flow away by the time.He didn't know that it influenced all his world.At the end this regret brought him back to his hometown to make expiation for his guilt and also get the explanation to everything.
Isn't it a kind of age and cultural tragedy?

Revise My CEEP

I think my CEF level is between B1 and B2. My aspect of listening is weaker maybe because we don't have that environment and English is not our mother tongue.And about reading we have do a lot of practice before,even now,so I think it's much better than listening.
Revise my CEEP:
1.Listening to the magazine(CNN and Newsweek) that I have subscribed to by the schedule.
2.Having a notebook to write down the words or phrases that I don't know ,make a sentence to them to help me know how to use,then,memorize it.
3Join the English Corner to have more practice with others.
